MIMETISM INTERRUPTED SUITE is the fifth sculpture in the TRANSCENDENT FORCE series. By elongating the base, this piece, thrusting upwards from a transparent block which holds it, does not just deny gravity but evokes an irrepressible force breaking free from its very foundation. Its ultimate power comes from its interruption, the moment where the slightly flattened twin shapes mirroring each other allow individuality to emerge. The crescent slash of the impenetrable shield, reminiscent of a boomerang which will never come back, indicates not just an irreversible directional movement but the necessity of letting energy flow through the piece, allowing light where the form otherwise denies it. The black mat finish evokes both ancient ritual tribal shields and contemporary minimalism, letting the feather-like shape to speak without distraction. MIMETISM INTERRUPTED SUITE is a piece where contradictions exist without resolution, the ultimate hallmark of a work which explores the duality of Gemini.
